La energ\u00eda producida W en el punto donde se genera el arco el\u00e9ctrico se origina como producto de la carga Q y de la ca\u00edda de tensi\u00f3n \u00e1nodo\/c\u00e1todo UA,K con valores en el rango microm\u00e9trico U A,K (Ver Figura).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.electropol.com.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/EnergiaProducidaPuntoImpacto.png\" alt=\"EnergiaProducidaPuntoImpacto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>El valor medio de UA,K es de algunos 10 V y depende de influencias como son la amplitud y la forma de onda de la corriente:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.electropol.com.co\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/FormulaW.png\" alt=\"FormulaW\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Siendo:<br \/>\nQ Carga de la corriente de rayo.<br \/>\nUA,K Ca\u00edda de tensi\u00f3n \u00e1nodo\/c\u00e1todo.<\/p>\n<p>De este modo, la carga de la corriente de rayo puede volatilizar o fundir los componentes del sistema de protecci\u00f3n externa sobre los que el rayo descarga directamente. Pero adem\u00e1s, la carga es determinante para los esfuerzos a que se ven sometidas las v\u00edas de chispas de protecci\u00f3n y separaci\u00f3n y los descargado-res de sobretensiones basados en esta tecnolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Investigaciones recientes han mostrado que, sobre todo, la carga de larga duraci\u00f3n Qlong de la corriente continua del rayo, como consecuencia de la duraci\u00f3n m\u00e1s larga del efecto del arco el\u00e9ctrico, es capaz de fundir e incluso de evaporar grandes vol\u00famenes de material.
